dr hab. Teresa Kamińska
Teresa Kamińska graduated with distinction from Prof. Witold Herman’s cello class at the Academy of Music in Krakow and in post-graduate studies from the Department of Historical Performance Practice of the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. For many years she has been connected with the Academy of Music in Krakow – from 1994-2009 conducting a class in violoncello and from 2007 in baroque cello.
She is an enthusiast in the field of historical performance – on historical violoncelli her repertoire extends from the beginning of the 17th to the middle of the 19th century. She enjoys performing her own transcriptions of works by Bach, Handel, Schubert and Brahms. She also includes contemporary works in her repertoire. For many years participating in M. Toporowski’s ensemble, Concerto Polacco, she also performs with other ensembles including M. Willens’, Die Kölner Akademie. With these ensembles she has performed at Polish and foreign festivals and made many recordings of chamber and orchestral music.
In 2012-2013 her recordings together with Marek Toporowski were released: Seven Angels (Groβräschener Orgelkonzerte e.V.), consisting of works for cello and organ by 20th century composers and A cinque cordes (Musicon), with arrangements of J. S. Bach’s partitas and sonatas. Both albums were nominated for the Fryderyk Award.
