Wojciech Groborz is a Jazz piano player, arranger, composer, and educator. Active booster of Be-Bop Jazz style and music of Duke Ellington. He is known as the leader of own groups of a large variety of size – from the trio to the big band. Played with Extra Ball of great late Jaroslaw Śmietana, Janusz Muniak, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Henryk Majewski, Leszek Żądło (Zadlo), and many others. From 1987 cooperates with the oldest existing Jazz group in Poland, Jazz Band Ball Orchestra. He has performed in Europe and the US, where he studied, among others, with Hal Galper and Barry Harris. Active arranger, composer, and educator. He teaches and conducts big band at His Alma Mater; Academy of Music in Krakow at the Department of Jazz. Still active (until SARS-CoV-2 time), as the leader of the own Trio, Paceline 4 — the main place for composing experiences, and, maybe the most important, a septet called “Orchestra Dedicated — Groborz And Cronies”; established in 2017, ist’s a proof of leadership, composing, and arranger’s skills.
