Romek KlaudiaAlumna of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. Romek was studying in the Vocal Faculty, in the master-class of professor Irena Torbus.

After finishing her studies she became a member of the Capella Cracoviensis Madrigalists Ensemble, then she started to collaborate with Krakow Philharmonic Choir. As a member of this two companies she took part in numerous tours around Europe (inter alia: Germany, Italy, France, Swiss, England), USA and Japan.

Romek specializes in oratorio and cantata music and often performs solo parts in pieces such “St John Passion”, “Christmas Oratorio”, “Mass in B-minor” (by J. S. Bach), “Requiem” by W. A. Mozart, “Messiah” by G. F  Handel and many others. Collaborating with conductors like V. Ponkin, T. Strugała, St. Gałoński, St. Krawczyński, R. Bader, Romek had an opportunity to perform in many important concert halls, like Wigmore Hall in London.

In 1992 she performed Susanna in “The Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart, staged by Capella Cracoviensis Ensemble. The opera was shown on the stage of the Krakow Opera, and later during the USA tour.

She participated also in numerous music festivals, inter alia: Wratislavia Cantans, Muzyka w Starym Krakowie, Musica Antiqua Festival in Stary Sącz, Telemann Festival in Magdeburg, Bach Festival in Wrocław.

Romek has also been recording in the studio, radio and television. She took part, among others, in recording the album with music by D. Milhaud, as a soloist. The disc was awarded with two prestige prizes: Grand Prix du Disque and Diapason d’Or.

Besides work in the ensembles Romek gives concerts individually.

In 2005 she was honoured with the Silver Cross of Merit by the President of Polish Republic, for her music activity.

Romek works as a teacher of voice emission in the Institute of Choral Conducting, Music Education and Dalcroze Technique in Krakow Music Academy, being the Head of Voice Emission Theachers Team.
