dr Maciej Hałoń
Born in 1988, a graduate of the Academy of Music in Krakow in the percussion class of prof. Jan Pilch. He graduated bachelor and master studies with honors. He completed phd studies at the Academy of Music in Krakow. In addition to classical studies, he pursued a program of jazz specialties. Winner of the Krakow City Scholarship, the Minister’s Scholarship, the Sapere Auso Foundation. As a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician, he has participated in many important international festivals both in Poland and abroad, including Contemporary Music Festival Warsaw Autumn, Sources and Inspirations Percussion Festival, Sacrum Profanum, Sound New, Beethoven Festival, Audio Art, Film Music Festival, Emanations, Poznań Music Spring. He has participated in many world premieres of contemporary music, performing works by famous Krakow composers and others. Member of the Amadrums Trio, with whom he won the Grand Prix and the first prize at the 14th International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition. From 2020, he is the Artistic Director of the International Sources and Inspirations Percussion Festival. On a daily basis he works with the Amadrums Trio, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Variété Theater and the Ignition septet. Currently a lecturer at The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, at the Department of Percussion and Contemporary Music.
