Wojciech Turek – bassoon


Turek WociechIn 1985 he graduated from the Academy of Music in Kraków, where he studied bassoon under the guidance of Professor Kazimierz Siudmak. He received a scholarship that enabled him to join the virtuoso class of Professor Roger Birnstingl at Geneva Conservatory. Laureate of the 1st prize at K. Kurpiński Competition in Włoszakowice (1984), finalist of the wind instrument competition in Ancona, as well as of chamber music competitions in San Sebastian and Paris. Wojciech Turek cooperated with orchestras such as: Suisse Romande, Sinfonia Varsovia, Capella Cracoviensis, chamber orchestra of Agnieszka Duczmal, Camerata de Geneve. He gave masterclasses of music interpretation in Duszniki-Zdrój. He has been principal bassoonist of the Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as faculty member of the Academy of Music in Kraków (since 1990), presently as assistant professor. His artistic output includes several CDs, as well as recordings for the radio and television. He has been an active soloist and chamber musician.
