Maurizio Colasanti is recognised on the international scene as one of the most dynamic and eclectic conductors of his generation. He is widely acclaimed for his interpretations of contemporary music.

Maurizio Colasanti is also acknowledged for his fine performances of Opera – the great Italian Operas such as Rigoloetto, Otello, La Boheme, La Traviata and Gianni Schicchi – he opened the season of Opera Korea conducting the Seoul Philharmonic at Seoul Opera House with Richard Strauss’ Salome to excellent reviews, and a favourite of his, Stravinsky’s Le Rossignol, he conducted at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari. He began music studies very young, at the age of just five, and played his first solo concert when aged seven, earning his first Diploma Cum Laude from the “Luisa D’Annunzio” Conservatory of Music. He later graduated from there with honours in Philosophy as well. He has been awarded several prizes at international music competitions including the First Prize in Capri, Pola. Maurizio has worked with many leading ensembles including such distinguished orchestras as: I Solisti del Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Nord Czech Philarmonic Orchestra, the Deutsches Kammerorchester, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Villa Lobos Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica del Estrado del Mexico, Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra, New England Symphony Orchestra, the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Magna Grecia, Seoul Philarmonic. he was Principal Conductor and Artistic director of OSUEL. Maurizio Colasanti has conducted in many leading venues around the world including Carnegie Hall, New York, St. Martin in the Fields, London, the Teatro San Carlo, Naples, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, and Melba Hall in Melbourne, Australia, Smetana Hall. He has also worked at leading academic institutes such as the Royal Academy of Music, London and the
Miami University of Music, Illinois Music University. He has a large discography having recorded CDs with Bongiovanni (Bologna), Menabo (Rome), Iktius (Milan), Mondo Musica Verlags (Munchen), and Aulia and Tactus. In 2023 he will conduct many opera’s: Handel, Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno, Dall’Ongaro Bach Haus, Verdi Simon Boccanegra, Donizetti, Elisir d’Amore, Poulenc The Voix Humane.

In his intense career he has worked with musicians such as: A. Rosand, A.Pay, G.Schuller, M.Larrieu, P. Badura Skoda, F. Ayo, He has collaborated with directors internationally renowned such as: M. Di Mattia, T, Moschoupulos, G. Cazzola, S. Castellitto, A.Steiner, E.Stinchelli, A.Paloscia, A. Tarabella. He is GO Opera Festival and Euregio Klassika Artistic Director.

As composer Maurizio Colasanti, has received many commissions to compose symphonic and chamber pieces, from orchestras and festivals around the world. In March, his new piece R-Inside dedicated to Sergej Vasil’evič Rachmaninov will make its world premiere with the Sanremo Synphonic Orchestra.
