prof. dr hab. Mariusz Sielski
Prof. dr hab. Mariusz Sielski – studied at the Academy of Music in Kraków under professors Ludwik Stefański, Ewa Bukojemska and Janusz Dolny (diploma with honours). He participated in prestigious masterclasses, working under the guidance of outstanding teachers (Alexander Jenner, Rudolf Buchbinder, Eliane Richepin, Fausto Zadra). He also completed a year of study at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich.
He performs mainly as a chamber musician, giving concerts in Poland and abroad – Austria, the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, Thailand, Great Britain and Italy. He has 3 CD recordings to his credit. He teaches a class of piano at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków as a professor. To date, a large group of 50 of professionally active musicians working in Poland and abroad have completed their master’s studies in piano under his supervision. Among his students there are laureates of piano competitions in Austria (Pörtschach), Spain (La Rioja), USA (Los Angeles), Italy (Castellana Grotte, Finale Ligure, Florence, Naples), Estonia (Narva, Tallinn), Ukraine (Lviv) and Poland (Szafarnia, Kielce, Krakow, Żagań, Warsaw, Busko-Zdrój). Ten of his graduates are full-time employees of the Academy of Music in Kraków. He has supervised three doctoral theses and reviewed many doctoral, postdoctoral and professorial dissertations. He gives seminars, courses and open lessons, and is invited as a member of the jury to piano competitions in Poland, Georgia, Italy, Slovakia and China.
He collaborates with the Polish Music Publishing House. He is a member of the Committee of Art Sciences of the Krakow Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
From 1996 to 1999 he was the vice dean of the Instrumental Faculty and then a vice rector (1999-2002). During the 2012-2016 term, he was the vice dean, and then the dean of the Instrumental Faculty (2016-2024).
