Andrzej Rzymkowski – saxophone

Rzymkowski AndrzejGraduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków, class of saxophone of Prof. Lesław Lic. After receiving diploma with honours in 1982, continued his instrumental studies under the direction of Günter Priesner in Nuremberg. Participated in World Saxophone Congresses and in the international master courses conducted by Prof. Jean-Marie Londeix, Prof. Iwan Roth and Prof. Ed Bogaard. Currently employed as assistant lecturer at the Academy of Music in Kraków. For many years he has also been lecturing at courses organised in Poland and abroad. Juror of national and international saxophone competitions. Founder and president of the Polish Saxophone Association, honorary member of ARDESA (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutsche Saxophonisten e.V.). Participated in many international music festivals including Jeunesses Musicales (Kielce), Music in the Old Cracow, Contrasts – Festival of Contemporary Music (Lviv), Pegnitzschäfer (Nuremberg), International Music Festival in Debrecen (Hungary). Avantgarde Schwaz (Austria). Very active as soloist and chamber music performer in Poland and abroad. Played solo parts with many orchestras, including Philharmonics of Kraków, Kielce, Lublin, Wałbrzych, the National Philharmonic, with Capella Cracoviensis and Göttinger Symphonie Orchester (Germany).
