What the studies offer
The second-cycle programme lasts two years, and you will be awarded a master’s degree.
During your studies:
- you will work in a vocal ensemble
- you will learn solo and choral singing
- you will have the opportunity to perform with the faculty choir and the university choir
- you will benefit from a system of placements with professional and amateur choral groups, providing you with professional experience
- you actively participate in masterclasses and workshops on singing and vocal technique, led by distinguished Polish and international lecturers
- you take part in conferences and academic sessions dedicated to choral music
- your end-of-term exams take place with a choral ensemble, and your graduation will be a concert during which you will perform with soloists and the choir

CHORAL SINGING
We require a graduation diploma of the first-cycle (or long-cycle) studies and the knowledge and skills at the level of completed first-cycle in the field of artistic education in the field of music.
Stage 1
Major exams:
- A performance of two solo vocal pieces of differing character, drawn from different eras. The performance will be accompanied by a pianist.
- Practical choral examination involving independent preparation of an assigned vocal part and its a cappella performance
- An Interview
Stage 2
Supplementary exams:
(do not apply to the candidates who have completed a programme of study in the following fields: artistic education in the field of music, conducting, composition and music theory within the Polish system of music education)
- Ear training – an oral practical exam
– An aural analysis of complex chord structures and harmonic patterns
– Voice performance of atonal melody and rhythmic exercises of considerable complexity.
- Written test on the principles of music and harmony
- Music literature – a written exam
– Identification of an appropriate stylistic period or composer and a brief discussion of problems related to them – based on musical examples.
