PERSONAL DATA CONTROLLER

PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS

The Data Controller uses your personal data for the following purposes:
– using the AMKP Library services (Lending Room, Reading Room, Record Library), i.e. registering and issuing a library card and/or setting up a library account for the purpose of borrowing and returning library materials, reminding you of the due date, sending reminders (legal basis – Article 6(1)(c)(e) GDPR and this is in connection with the provisions of the law on higher education regarding the acquisition of library collections and making them available);
– to pursue claims and defend against any claims related to library services (legal basis – Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) – “legitimate interest”.

The provision of data is voluntary, but necessary for the above-mentioned purposes of the Data Controller. Refusal to provide data may result in the impossibility of fulfilling the aforementioned purposes, i.e. using the Library’s services. Data is not subject to profiling for decision-making purposes.

RETENTION PERIOD

The Data Controller keeps the data for the duration of using Library’s services, and thereafter until the period of prescription of potential claims ends. If the data may provide or provide evidence in a case conducted by authorised state authorities, it is kept until the final and binding termination of the aforementioned proceedings.

RIGHTS RELATED TO DATA PROCESSING

You have rights including: right to access your personal data (information on the personal data processed and its copy), right to rectification of your data (when it is inaccurate), right to transfer your data (in the cases specified in GDPR), rights to erasure or restriction of the processing of your personal data – according to the principles specified in GDPR, right to object to processing or to withdraw your consent (if it was given). If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact the Data Controller. In addition, you may also make a complaint to the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection, based in Warsaw. The data will not be profiled for the purpose of automated decision-making.

DATA RECIPIENTS

The personal data may be provided to entities cooperating with the Data Controller for the aforementioned purposes, including in particular technical and IT services providers, entities providing consultancy and legal services. In other cases, personal data may be made available to authorised state authorities.
