Semeniuk-Podraza MirosławaShe has graduated from the State Music School in Krakow where she attended professor Jan Jargon’s organ class. She obtained first class honours. She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna in professor Hans Haselböck’s class and also attended some international master courses under famous professors’ guidance. She was the prizewinner of the all-Polish Organ Competition, Cracow 1973. She has given concerts at all the significant organ festivals both in Poland and abroad, on all the continents, to mention just a few important cultural centres as Vienna, London (The Royal Academy of Music, St. Paul’s Cathedral), Washington, D.C. (Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul), Leipzig (Gewandhaus), Mexico City Cathedral, Lyons (the display of the Polish culture at the La Pologne d’Aujourd hui festival), the international festivals in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Porto Alegre, Kyoto and other cities of the world.

In her career, she has played the priceless antique instruments of Compenius, Schnitger or Silbermann. She has recorded for the radio, television and has even released some records. She has repeatedly been a member of the jury at Polish and international organ competitions and she often talks at lectures and master courses during which she promotes the Polish organ art in centres such as London, New York, Mexico, Pretoria, et al.

 In 2001 she took a spectacular “Around the World” trip, during which she gave organ recitals in Mexico, the USA, Uruguay, Brazil, Australia, Japan, Great Britain, Sardinia and the Republic of South Africa.

Miroslawa Semeniuk-Podraza is the full professor at the Academy of Music in Cracow. She has educated a lot of graduates and promoted a young staff of artists who are extremely active in the  culture field. In 1999-2012 she served first as the Associate Dean and then as the Dean of the Instrumental Faculty. Since 2012 she has been the Head of the Organ Department. For many years she has been organizing, directing and hosting festivals of international significance, such as  The International Summer Organ Festival in Cracow, L’Arte Organica in Nowy Sacz and Jan Jargon Organ All Souls’ Day in Cracow.

What’s more, she was the founder and for two tenures the president of the Kyoto Friends Society In Cracow. She is a member of the Polish Bach Society and a member of Who is Who Hubners Verlag. She initiated and supervised the restoration of the antique organs in the Holy Cross Church in Cracow.

Mirosława Semeniuk-Podraza has received following distinctions:

Gold Cross of Merit, Medal of Commission of National Educatio, Gloria Artis Silver Medal for Merit to Culture, Medal for Long Service, Officer’s Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland.
