mgr Karol Ślusarski
Karol Ślusarski graduated from Ludomir Różycki Secondary Music School in the saxophone class of MA Andrzej Gronostaj and Jan Śniadecki High School in Kielce. After finishing secondary education he began studies at Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice where he received his BA diploma at the Vocal Jazz Department in the class of MA Agnieszka Wilczyńska – Murakowska. He continued his studies at the Music Academy in Katowice in the Jazz Composition and Arrangement Department in the class of DMus Hab Jacek Glenc which he graduated with honour in 2011. Then he started the DMus studies at K. Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice in the discipline of Composition and Theory of Music, specialty composition, continuing the education in terms of jazz music. In 2015 he officially commenced the DMus degree conferment procedure. His compositions were performed at International Song Festival Carpathia 2008 in Rzeszów, National Television Kielce (2008), National Young Talent Festival „Niemen Non Stop 2010”, concerts in Harris Piano Bar (2012) Mile Stone Jazz Club (2013), Piwnica pod Baranami (2014) in Cracow. Another composition was performed at neanderland Biennale 2015 in Haan (Germany). Karol Ślusarski’s composition was performed by Big Band Małopolski led by DMus hab Ryszard Krawczuk – concerts at “Młyn Jazz Festival” in Wadowice, “Jazz Night” in Cracow, Andrychów and also in The Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra Philharmonic in Katowice – the soloist of the last two concerts was Rosario Giuliani (2015). In the first of the two concerts in Andrychów, Karol Ślusarski’s arrangement of Michał Urbaniak’s composition was performed – soloist Michał Urbaniak (2015). Since 2011 he has been a lecturer at the Institute of Music Education of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and a teacher at Cracow School of Jazz and Pop Music. Since 2012 he has been conducting classes at the Music Academy in Cracow.
