PhD, graduate from the Academy of Music in Cracow (summa cum laude), the Liturgical Institute of the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow (honours degree) and the Studies for Voice Production at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (honours degree). In March 1990, he became the laureate of the National Conductors Competition in Poznań. Between 1990 and 1992, he was the director of Ignacy Paderewski Centre in Tarnów. In 1991, he founded the Tarnów Chamber Orchestra. From 1992 to 1996, he was the director of the State Music Schools in Tarnów. Since 1994, he has been working as an assistant professor at the Liturgical Institute at the Pontifical University in Cracow. In his conducting work with such choirs as Cantus, Psalmodia and the Jagiellonian University Male Choir, he was honoured with numerous awards and prizes, both national and international. Between 1995 and 2010 he was the manager and artistic director of the Polish Radio Choir in Cracow. In the year 2000, during the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Polish Radio, he was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit. In 2001, he was honoured with the Jerzy Kurczewski prize for his outstanding achievements in the field of conducting, awarded by jury under the honorary patronage of Krzysztof Penderecki. He was admitted to post doctoral programme at the Academy of Music in Cracow in 2002. In 2008, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Polish Radio Choir in Cracow, he received a “Honorary Gold Microphone” award. The same year, during the Festival of Songs to St. Mary in Pińczów, he was awarded a special prize of the Marshal of the Kielce Province and the “Honoris Gratia” distinction awarded by the President of Cracow. In 2010, he was honoured with the “Order of Merit for Polish Culture” awarded by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Since 2012, he has been the Head of the Choral Department at the Academy of Music in Cracow. In the same year he was honoured with the “Benemerenti” distinction by Pope Benedict XVI for outstanding service to the Catholic Church. In 2013, he received the medal “Plus ratio quam vis” awarded by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University.
