From the age of eight, she learned from Eugenia Umi\u0144ska, who later also became her teacher at the State Higher School of Music in Krakow. She graduated with honors in 1972, and in the same year, she completed a two-year programme of David Oistrakh\u2019s master classes at the Pyotr Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. Two years later, she took part in Ruggiero Ricci\u2019s master classes organised by the Canadian government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1959, she received 1st Prize at the National Violin Competition in Wroc\u0142aw, a scholarship from the Association of Polish Artists Musicians funded by Henryk Szeryng, and also scholarships from Paul Kletzki, the Henryk Wieniawski Musical Society of Pozna\u0144, and the Minister of Culture and Art.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kaja Danczowska is the winner of numerous national and international competitions, including 3rd Prize at the 5th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Pozna\u0144 (1967), 2nd Prize at the Alberto Curci Violin Competition in Naples (1969), 2nd Prize at the Competition for Musical Performances in Geneva (1970), 3rd Prize at the International Radio Competition in Munich (1975), and Silver Medal at the International Queen Elisabeth of Belgium Music Competition in Brussels (1976).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From the age of ten, she has performed as a soloist throughout the world. She has played with Krystian Zimerman, with whom she recorded sonatas by C\u00e9sar Franck and W. A. Mozart as well as Karol Szymanowski\u2019s <em>Myths<\/em>. She has also worked with Heinz Holliger, Gidon Kremer, Jan Krenz, Mischa Maisky, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Ivan Monighetti, Krzysztof Penderecki, Yuri Simonov, Stanis\u0142aw Skrowaczewski, Tadeusz Struga\u0142a, Witold Rowicki and, Antoni Wit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a versatile artist, Kaja Danczowska has performed works from all historical periods. Musical critics praise her technical accuracy, clear sound and emotional involvement in the interpretation of the musical work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She has recorded for well-known record companies as well as for radio archives (more than 400 recordings, mostly for the Polish Radio and RIAS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kaja Danczowska has sat on the jury of numerous competitions in Poland and abroad, e.g. in Pozna\u0144 (1986), Tokyo (1986), Munich (1992, 1998), New York (1999), Odense (2000), and Vienna (2008). Since 1972, she has taught a violin class at the Academy of Music in Krakow; in 1997, she obtained the state title of full professor. As a highly regarded teacher and tutor, she has received numerous awards, including the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture \u2013 Gloria Artis for the 50th anniversary of her artistic work in 2006, the Commander\u2019s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2009, five times (1979, 1991, 1998, 2010, 2013) the Award of the Minister of Culture and Art (today the Minister of Culture and National Heritage), and the Award of the President of the Council of Ministers in 2011.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kaja Danczowska started taking violin lessons from Jan Stasica at the age of seven.
