The organizer of the 3rd International Piano Duo Competition \u201cDuettissimo\u201d (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) is the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow \u2013 Department of Chamber Music, in cooperation with the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music Foundation in Krakow.<br \/>\n2. The Competition will take place from 4\u201311 April 2027.<br \/>\n3. Competition auditions will be held in the Krystyna Moszuma\u0144ska-Nazar Concert Hall at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, ul. \u015bw. Tomasza 43 (Stages I and II), and at the Krakow Philharmonic Hall named after K. Szymanowski, ul. Zwierzyniecka 1 (Stage III).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a72<br \/>\nApplication<\/h6>\n<p>1. Applications must be submitted no later than 31 January 2027, together with a copy of the entry fee payment, to the email address:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"mailto:konkurs.duettissimo@amuz.krakow.pl\">konkurs.duettissimo@amuz.krakow.pl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. To apply, candidates must submit <strong>by 31 January 2027<\/strong>:<br \/>\n&#8211; a completed <a href=\"#karta-zgloszenia\"><strong>Application Form<\/strong><\/a> (available on the Academy\u2019s website under the 3rd International Piano Duo Competition tab, Annex 1 to these Regulations),<br \/>\n&#8211; participation fee as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1) For candidates with Polish citizenship:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; Category I: <strong>500 PLN<\/strong> per duo<br \/>\n&#8211; Category II: <strong>800 PLN<\/strong> per duo<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Payment should be made to:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">BANK PEKAO S.A., III Branch Krakow<br \/>\n41 1240 2294 1111 0000 3708 8240<br \/>\nwith the note: \u201cKonkurs Duettissimo\u201d<\/p>\n<p>2) For international participants:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; Category I: <strong>120 EUR<\/strong> per duo<br \/>\n&#8211; Category II: <strong>250 EUR<\/strong> per duo<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Payment should be made to:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bank PEKAO SA, III Branch Krakow<br \/>\nIBAN: PL 42 1240 2294 1978 0010 2649 8028<br \/>\nBIC\/SWIFT: PKOPPLPW<br \/>\nwith the note: \u201cKonkurs Duettissimo\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Confirmation of payment must be sent to: konkurs.duettissimo@amuz.krakow.pl along with the completed Application Form.<\/p>\n<p>3. Candidates cover their own travel, accommodation, and meals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a73<br \/>\nParticipants, Schedule, and Categories<\/h6>\n<p>1. Candidates will be notified electronically by 15 February 2027 about their inclusion on the participant list. Inclusion requires correct completion of the application form, fulfillment of formal conditions, and submission of the payment confirmation. The Organizer verifies formal compliance.<\/p>\n<p>2. The preliminary audition schedule is Annex 2 to these Regulations. The Organizer reserves the right to modify the schedule. The detailed schedule will be published on the Academy\u2019s website (amuz.krakow.pl) at least 30 days before the Competition.<\/p>\n<p>3. The Competition will have the following age categories:<br \/>\n&#8211; Category I \u2013 the total age of duo members (as of 4 April 2027) may not exceed 42 years.<br \/>\n&#8211; Category II \u2013 the total age of duo members (as of 4 April 2027) may not exceed 70 years.<\/p>\n<p>4. Participants are required to perform the following repertoire:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Category I (25\u201330 minutes):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart \u2013 I movement of any Sonata for 4 hands or 2 pianos<br \/>\n2) Any work by a Polish composer (excluding Witold Lutos\u0142awski, Variations on a Theme by Paganini)<br \/>\n3) Additional pieces to fill the required time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Category II:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stage I (20\u201325 minutes):<\/strong><br \/>\n1) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart \u2013 I movement of any Sonata for 4 hands<br \/>\n2) Any 2-piano program to fill the required time<br \/>\nOR<br \/>\n1) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart \u2013 Sonata in D major, KV 448 for 2 pianos (1st movement)<br \/>\n2) Any 4-hand program to fill the required time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stage II (45\u201350 minutes):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Witold Lutos\u0142awski \u2013 Variations on a Theme by Paganini<\/p>\n<p>2) One work by a Polish composer chosen from:<br \/>\n&#8211; Maurycy Moszkowski, <em>5 Spanische T\u00e4nze<\/em> op. 12 (4 hands)<br \/>\n&#8211; Zygmunt Noskowski, <em>Fantazja g\u00f3ralska<\/em> op. 17 (4 hands)<br \/>\n&#8211; Henryk Miko\u0142aj G\u00f3recki, <em>Toccata<\/em> op. 2 (2 pianos)<br \/>\n&#8211; Roman Maciejewski, <em>Negro Spirituals<\/em> (2 pianos)<br \/>\n&#8211; Roman Maciejewski, <em>Oberek<\/em> (2 pianos)<br \/>\n&#8211; Ignacy Jan Paderewski,<em> Tatra Album<\/em> op. 12, books I &amp; II (4 hands)<br \/>\n&#8211; Eliza Markowska, <em>Romance Symphonique<\/em> op. 65 (2 pianos)<br \/>\n&#8211; Aleksander Tansman,<em> Le train de nuit<\/em> (2 pianos)<br \/>\n&#8211; Juliusz Zar\u0119bski,<em> A travers Pologne<\/em> op. 23 (4 hands)<br \/>\n&#8211; Juliusz Zar\u0119bski, <em>Divertissement \u00e0 la polonaise<\/em> op. 12 (4 hands)<\/p>\n<p>3) Additional pieces to fill the required time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stage III:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Concerto for 2 pianos and orchestra (choose one):<br \/>\n1) Max Bruch \u2013 Concerto in A-flat major, op. 88a<br \/>\n2) Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy \u2013 Concerto in E major MWV O 5<br \/>\n3) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart \u2013 Concerto in E-flat major KV 365\/316a No. 10<br \/>\n4) Francis Poulenc \u2013 Concerto in D minor FP 61<\/p>\n<p>Changes to repertoire submitted after the application deadline (31 January 2027) require the Organizer\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a74<br \/>\nDrawing of Performance Order<\/h6>\n<p>Candidates must appear for the drawing of performance order on 4 April 2027 with valid identification and date of birth. The exact time and place will be communicated at least 30 days prior. At least one member of the duo must attend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a75<br \/>\nAdvancement Limitations<\/h6>\n<p>For Category II, no more than 10 duos will advance to Stage II and no more than 4 duos to the finals. In case of disputes, the Jury Chair\u2019s decision is final.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a76<br \/>\nJury<\/h6>\n<p>1. The Jury is appointed by the Organizer and its members will be announced publicly no later than 4 April 2026.<br \/>\n2. The Jury operates according to its own internal regulations approved at the first meeting. A member may not score participants who are their students.<br \/>\n3. Jury decisions are final, irrevocable, and unappealable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a77<br \/>\nPrizes<\/h6>\n<p>1. Award winners receive the title of Competition Laureate.<br \/>\n2. Prizes:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Category I:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I prize \u2013 10,000 PLN<br \/>\nII prize \u2013 5,000 PLN<br \/>\nIII prize \u2013 3,000 PLN<\/p>\n<p>Special prizes:<br \/>\n\u2022 Best performance of Mozart Sonata I movement \u2013 2,000 PLN<br \/>\n\u2022 Best performance of a Polish composer\u2019s work \u2013 2,000 PLN<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Category II:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I prize \u2013 50,000 PLN<br \/>\nII prize \u2013 30,000 PLN<br \/>\nIII prize \u2013 20,000 PLN<br \/>\nHonourable mention \u2013 8,000 PLN<\/p>\n<p>Special prizes:<br \/>\n\u2022 Best performance of Mozart Sonata I movement \u2013 3,000 PLN<br \/>\n\u2022 Best performance of a Polish composer\u2019s work \u2013 6,000 PLN<\/p>\n<p>3. The Jury may adjust prizes based on competition results.<br \/>\n4. Additional monetary or in-kind prizes funded by institutions or private donors must be reported before the Competition. The Jury may classify them as official or non-official prizes.<br \/>\n5. Prizes are subject to income tax according to Polish law; tax will be handled by the Organizer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a78<br \/>\nRights and Consent<\/h6>\n<p>1. Participants transfer all property rights to recordings made during the Competition to the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow.<br \/>\n2. Participants consent to the use of their image in connection with the Competition.<br \/>\n3. The Organizer may record the Competition partially; recording scope is at Organizer\u2019s discretion.<br \/>\n4. Personal data is processed according to data protection regulations; details are in the Application Form.<br \/>\n5. Participation constitutes acceptance of these Regulations.<br \/>\n6. Participants confirm they have read the personal data clause in the Application Form.<br \/>\n7. The Organizer applies Child Protection Standards, available on its website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a79<br \/>\nFinal Provisions<\/h6>\n<p>1. The Organizer may cancel or modify any stage of the Competition; such decisions are final.<br \/>\n2. The Organizer may amend the Regulations at any time; changes are final. Notifications will be posted on the Competition website.<br \/>\n3. The Organizer decides on matters not covered in the Regulations.<br \/>\n4. In case of interpretation discrepancies, the Polish text prevails.<br \/>\n5. If the Competition or a stage is canceled, fees for that stage will be refunded.<br \/>\n6.
