International Scientific and Educational Conference Jazz XXI

Dear Sir or Madam,
the Contemporary Music, Jazz, and Percussion Department, Academy of Music in Krakow would like to invite you to participate in the International Scientific and Educational Conference Jazz XXI.
The dynamic development of Polish and world jazz in last dozen or so years has made it difficult to follow the growing numer of jazz musicians and their discography, the growing number of jazz educational centers and the increasing offer of jazz concerts and festivals. The aim of the conference is to attempt to summarize contemporary compositional, performative, educational and concert trends in Polish and world jazz.
We invite artists, educators and academics specializing in jazz music to participate in the conference. The topics of the conference are as follows:
- Outstanding musicians and new faces of contemporary jazz scene.
- Present educational centers of jazz music.
- Contemporary didactics of jazz music.
- The present jazz festivals and jazz club scenes.
- Contemporary jazz repertoire.
- Musical skills of contemporary jazz artists.
- New releases of jazz music.
- The literature of jazz.

Qualified participants will be notified by the February 1, 2018. In the case of a large number of applications,
the Organizer reserves the right to choose.
Presentation time: lecture – up to 20 minutes, artistic presentation – up to 45 minutes, workshop – up to 45 minutes.

Conference fee includes lunch and dinner on March 2, lunch on March 3 and coffee service.
Participants cover the cost of their accommodation.
